Nintendo Officially Announces DSi LL, Hits Japan,Europe

dsill102909-580pxIt sure didn’t take long for Nintendo to decide to confirm the extra large DSi. Just two days after Japan’s Nikkei newspaper reported it, Nintendo decided to come out and announce its release in Japan. This extra huge hand held has been dubbed the DSi LL and is set for release in Japan on November 21 for a price of ¥20,000 ($221). Europe has also announced its release there, with a first quarter 2010 release in mind.

With the DSi coming to Europe in Dark Brown, Wine Red and Natural White the DSi LL sure looks like it is more geared towards the older audience. To see all the pictures of the DSi LL, check them out below, along with some tec specs of the new DS.

TEC SPECS

  • Default stylus is 4 mm longer than the DSi stylus
  • The long “touch pen” is just about 40 mm longer than the DSistylus
  • Weighs approximately 50% more than the DSi/Lite
  • 1 - 3 hrs more battery life than DSi, depending on screen brightness
  • 3 hour charge (same as DS Lite, 30 mins longer than DSi)
