We all know that Wii gamers aren’t exactly throwing their money around to support ‘hardcore’ titles at the moment. I personally feel that a lack of advertising and real quality is the problem, but I can’t help but fear that Tatsunoko vs. Capcom is destined to fail.
One of the main problems the game has is half of its cast is unknown to everyone outside of Japan. This isn’t a problem for myself, but I’m not sure it’s going to appeal to a wide audience of hardcore gamers. I know how picky you can be.
The standard for Wii fighters is pretty low. I don’t think there’s been a real stand-out game in that genre for me other than Brawl. What about the gamers who have taken risks in the past and ended up with a crappy game? Why should they trust Capcom? Review scores should be enough. Seriously, this game is worth your time.
I really hope gamers go out and buy Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. I worry that the game will bomb, and end up being released on the other systems and ultimately finding success.
