Any person who has ever played any one of the Animal Crossing games knows that Mr. Resetti is an annoying mole who harasses you if you don’t save your game before turning your game system off. Yes, he might be a nuisance, but he could never disturb anybody…right? Well obviously Nintendo feels Mr. Resetti will disturb young children, due to a little parental warning they put in the Animal Crossing: City Folk instruction booklet.
“It is important that players save before switching off the Wii console in order to retain data after each play session (see Saving Data, above). If players switch off without saving, the character Mr. Resetti may appear upon restarting. Mr. Resetti’s purpose is to teach players the importance of saving. However, parents should be aware that his personality and tone of voice, while intentionally humourous, are authoritative and may be disturbing to young children.”
